Christ church cathedral

This is the church in the middle of the city. The city of Christchurch was built around this cathedral, which towers into the air for 65 meters. It was built in 1864 by Sir George Albert Scott. The church was buiIt in the gothic revival style. This style is known for its pointy arches and steep gables, and it is called revival because it was used in the 19th century, and refers to a style mostly used in medieval times. Christ church cathedral is the best known and best visited church of New Zealand. For a small charge you can climb the tower and enjoy the view. The church has several facilities like a church café and a visitor's centre.
